These past few months I've been spending most of my time enjoying everything 90210 has to offer. Shopping you ask? Sure, but more importantly, working. I've been working at an interior design firm, LIFE.STYLE., since September and I absolutely love it. It's right on Beverly Dr. so I'm close to almost everything in the city. I've definitely gotten a lot more acclimated with the area, considering I started doing SoulCycle in BH a few months ago, trips to Barneys are quite ordinary, and dinner at Sugarfish is a must. These are just three of the things I love most about Beverly Hills.
Lumberjack plaid, as I like to call it, has been pretty big this past F/W season. Saint Laurent used the pattern in their previous collection which then made their way on all the celebs you know and love. I bought this plaid shirt from J.Crew in the fall and wore it quite a lot. I don't usually like to wear a lot of red for some reason, but I love tying this shirt around my waist or just leaving it unbuttoned over a simple tee. There are tons of variations of the plaid, but seeing as how we're now heading into S/S, it may be harder to find.
A big trend that's up & coming are frayed ankle jeans. I saw some brands do it a few months back and knew I could definitely pull it off so I went into my closet and started cutting away. I chose to do it on my Diesel jeans I got around 2 years ago since it was one of those pairs of jeans I used to love and just never had a reason to wear them again. They were kind of long in the leg to begin with and I never went around to getting them altered, so naturally I altered them myself. Brands like Rag & Bone, J Brand, and Current Elliot have pairs if you're too lazy to cut some yourself. But if you want to do a little DIY project, then put on the pair of jeans you want to use and mark them just above your ankle and cut away! To get the distressed look, throw them in the wash before you wear them and out they'll come in all their frayed glory. For guys, they look great with chelsea boots and loafers, for girls, try ankle boots and simple strappy heels.
So, who's coming to visit and do SoulCycle with me??
