Yesterday was a pretty dull day, weather wise of course. Considering it's almost spring in California (or on.. I'll get to that later), the weather has been whack. Last Friday it was a high of 85 and this Friday it's a high of 55.. K. But to mark the new and upcoming season, I decided to add a pop of color to my outfit, and what better color than coral? I've been planning to have Genny take my photos, but our schedules have just been too crazy to actually find a good day to do it. I've known we were going to do another shoot around our neighborhood; it was just a matter of where. Orange is not the most photogenic of cities so finding a location is always tough. Luckily, I came across the street we took these on, California Street, while I was just casually taking a night drive. I drove down this street and right when I saw the huge bare trees I knew. It reminded me of somewhere on the East Coast (considering I've been in a NY state of mind ever since my trip) and knew it would be a great place to take some photos. So comes the name Coral on California.
I took my friend Joanna on this little photo adventure as well and had her pose for some photos as well (her post will be coming as soon as I finish editing), so don't be shocked if the location looks oddly familiar! But with spring coming, I'm excited to play with color blocking considering it is one of my favorite trends. I wanted to work with the preppy and clean cut look of a collared shirt and sweater, but add a sense of edge with the big faced watch and beat up black boots.
